Connect Dropbox to Plugnotes via Zapier

Zapier can help you connect many different apps. For this example, we will use Dropbox and connect it to Plugnotes. This allows us to send information directly to a Plugnotes form when we receive a new document rather than refiling everything manually.

Step 1: Log in to Zapier

Head over to the Zapier website and sign in if you already have an account or create one for free.

Step 2: Choose app and trigger

Write in the search bar “Dropbox” so you can choose this as your application. Next, you'll need to choose what triggers the Zap to work. For this example, it will be a new document placed in Dropbox.

Step 3: Choose the account

Log in to your Dropbox account and allow Zapier to access the files so it can create Plugnotes from them.

Step 4: Choose Folder

Choose the file folder you want to use for the Zap. All files placed in this folder will then be placed in Plugnotes.

Step 5: Test the trigger

In order to make sure that the first part of the connection works, you need to test the trigger. By doing so, Zapier will attempt to find the spreadsheet you described and read the information.

Step 1: Choose the application and the event

Choose Plugnotes as the application you want to use. You can do this by choosing an application if you see it directly on your screen or by typing the name in the search bar and clicking on it. Zapier then asks what you want to happen once the Zap is triggered. For this example, we will set the event as "Create" so that a new Plugnotes will be created each time a file is placed.

Step 2: Connect your Plugnotes account

If you've used Plugnotes with Zapier before, you can simply choose which account you want to use. If you don't have it, just connect your Plugnotes account via Zapier.

Step 3: Choose Plugnotes

You will need to choose the Plugnotes form you wish to connect to the spreadsheet. You do this manually by writing the name in the search bar or browsing the drop-down menu.

Step 4: Connect all fields

Zapier will find the different form field names. All you have to do is connect them to the fields in the Dropbox document so that everything is filled out the way you want.

Step 5: Test the Zap

You should test the Zap before using it to make sure everything is correct. You can easily do this with Zapier.

As you can see I tested the Zap and now there is a new Plugnotes automatically in my folder for the file I previously placed in my Dropbox.

Step 6: Activate the Zap

The last step is to activate the Zap and use it according to your needs!
